(42,641 posts)"All" is exactly what they want, and they have the money to but enough politicians to write the laws so they can have it all.
When I read articles praising Jeff Bezos, especially here, I cannot understand how anyone can overlook the primary goal of this predatory capitalist. And that goal is to have it all at the expense of the bottom 90%.
Any so-called convenience that anyone receives by shopping from the predator carries a very high price.

Apparently it's based on "net worth", but that's an elusive number. How many people can truly pin down their net worth exactly?
Finally, in the very rare chance that this is enacted, it will result in billions if not trillions of dollars leaving the country and the American economy.

(10,151 posts)If you make me pay my fair share I'll leave the country that allowed me to con and manipulate my way to wealth. I'll show you. I'll live in my paradise Island all by myself, that'll show you....of course after I build roads, my mansion, servant quarters and get Epstein to send me over some maids.
If you make me pay my employees a living wage, I'll move my jobs to India...as long as I can still sell my crap in your markets, and use your infrastructure, courts and police to enforce my death grip.
Yeah, those poor, poor filthy rich criminals.

(10,151 posts)You don't need more than 50 million. No one needs more wealth than that.
Even that much requires a crime or two and royal inheritance.
But I would tell you, you have No right to an inheritance either. Inheritance ensures an unequal playing field and creates Orange annuses like Trump. And why should anyone gain capital because of the luck of their birth? That is feudalism.
You do not make wealth off in a corner all by yourself. You get it because others paved the rode for you. No one in this country with over a million did it on their own. We all paid our taxes and let people like you amass wealth.
You are not magically special, you are not entitled to con and manipulate to excess wealth ensuring others barely have enough to eat. You can only amass the wealth from our nation that all of us allow you. You are not entitled to it. Many people work harder than you and barely amass enough wealth to survive. Why do you think you are so entitled to more than anyone else?

(58,338 posts)"No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

(10,151 posts)They are allowed to amass wealth. There are many people who work harder, better and smarter than they. They are usually lazy criminals who conned and manipulated their inheritance into even more wealth.
They should shut up, sit down and count their lucky stars they are allowed to keep their stolen wealth. Time for a 99% top income tax bracket to put these cheats and free loaders in their place.
