GOP senators float Biden probe as Ukraine controversy escalates

Moscow Mitch and Lindsey Graham are going to once again run interference for Trump and Russia.

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/463032-gop-senators-float-biden-probe-as-ukraine-controversy-escalates

A pair of GOP chairmen are floating the idea of investigating former Vice President Joe Biden as Democratic calls grow for President Trump to be impeached over his communications with Ukraine's leader.

Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) both raised the possibility of an investigation into Biden after the White House released a record of a July 25 phone call that showed Trump asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look into Biden.

Democrats have reacted to the records released by the White House by saying they make the case for impeachment, but Republicans are countering with calls for Biden to be investigated.

"I've got some real legitimate questions about what happened with Vice President Biden, Hunter Biden, what was happening over there. ... I have a lot of questions that should be answered," Johnson, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, told reporters on Wednesday.

A new fault line in America politics - Democrat vs. Republican. Also seen as urban vs. rural. Urban is where diversity happens, society progresses. Rural is where similar people think similar things. Low education, vote against their best interests, ruin your future.

...even if the candidate's chances of getting sufficient delegates is mathematically impossible in the hopes that the presumptive nominee gets indicted, I think that candidate should be disqualified from consideration.

Pursuing the nomination even if you have been mathematically eliminated while your campaign plays coy and talks about you never know what might happen just serves to embolden and validate the corruption of Trump and Moscow Mitch. Plus, it givens foreign adversaries a means to spread disinformation and disruption in the Democratic party.

However, I agree that certain "Democrats" may not really care about supporting fellow Democrats, and may just be narcissistic enough to only care about their own personal political brand.

https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/rubycramer/bernie-sanders-inches-toward-supporting-impeaching-trump

When asked if he believed Democrats should avoid wading into questions about Hunter Biden — like when he told voters during a 2016 debate that he’d rather talk about the issues facing Americans than Hillary Clinton’s “damn emails” — Sanders said only he didn’t know enough about the subject to comment.

I know I’m a little bit old-fashioned. I like to see the evidence before I talk about things. I read the papers and I read what I read,” said Sanders. “But I don’t know that I know enough at this point to make any definitive statement."

18. Former Ukraine prosecutor says Hunter Biden "did not violate anything"
Thu Sep 26, 2019, 02:15 PM
Sep 2019

A former top Ukrainian prosecutor, whose allegations were at the heart of the dirt-digging effort by Rudolph W. Giuliani, said Thursday he believed that Hunter Biden did not run afoul of any laws in Ukraine.

“From the perspective of Ukrainian legislation, he did not violate anything,” former Ukrainian prosecutor general Yuri Lutsenko told The Washington Post in his first interview since the disclosure of a whistleblower complaint alleging pressure by President Trump on Ukraine’s president, Volodymr Zelensky.

Lutsenko’s comments about Hunter Biden — which echo what he told Bloomberg News in May — were significant, because Trump and his personal attorney Giuliani have sought to stir up suspicions about both Hunter and former vice president Joe Biden’s conduct in Ukraine in recent weeks. Joe Biden is leading Trump in many opinion polls ahead of the 2020 election.

Hunter Biden has denied any wrongdoing, and there is no evidence he was involved in any lawbreaking in his work in Ukraine with the country’s largest private gas company.
