It's all part of the process, and the combatants (usually) understand that.

George HW Bush absolutely hammered Reagan during the primaries and ended up being his VP.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Do you remember that she threw him under the bus this week.

And yet when asked specifically about Trump’s smears against Biden, Harris grew surprisingly taciturn. Asked at her campaign event whether Democrats should feel “discomfort” about Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine, Harris responded that she’d “leave that to the voters to decide.” The Associated Press followed up, asking whether the Ukraine story cast aspersion on Biden’s “campaign or his character.” Harris again demurred: “I’ll leave that up to the pundits. I don’t have a comment on that.” [link:https://thebulwark.com/kamala-harris-lets-trump-do-her-dirty-work/|

Andrew Egger was a reporter for the RW rags The Weekly Standard, the American Spectator, and the Daily Signal.

The Bullwark is is neocon RW central.

The Bulwark is an American conservative news and opinion website founded by conservative commentators Charlie Sykes and Bill Kristol. A news aggregator at first with Benjamin Parker as editor (he is currently senior editor), it was revamped into a news and opinion site with "the core digital staff of The Weekly Standard." Like the Standard, The Bulwark has been described as neoconservative.

I watched a clip of Harris stating this quote earlier this week.

She said what she said. She did not support Biden. That is
dangerous to our party and to the country. Period

I believe Warren will be the nominee , but if Biden wins I predict he will pick Kamala as his running mate ...He needs tp pick a much younger woman for obvious reasons … An all male ticket is unacceptable in this day and age..... She is clearly the best option available …...
