The endorsement of Rep. Jim Clyburn is huge factor in which candidate performs well in the SC. Primary

The support from African-Americans will be critical to winning the nomination. Warren is doing better with that demographic now than she was a few months ago but still falls far behind Biden.

and she listens.

she isn't going to be dismissive of concerns by saying everything will be solved through economic policy.

but Biden is still loved and i believe most who are considering someone else are more interested in Harris and some others at this point.

it will be interesting to see how things go.

Bill Clinton ran as the first Black President and Biden is looking to run as the third. But if he falters in Iowa and New Hampshire, he might find out that you only get so far by being Obama's wingman/ticket balance.

He literally failed to register even 1% of the vote the last time around in 2008.

Meanwhile, Warren's favorability rating remains very high and she does much better with younger African-Americans. Should Biden falter early on, I seriously doubt he will get anything like the overwhelming support that Clinton saw in 2016. With Warren's addressing student debt and child care - two issues in particular that hit the AA community hard - it won't take much for her to peel significant chunks from his numbers, at least if she campaigns with the personal touch she has maintained so far.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

centimeter wide and a millimeter deep. She does not connect with AAs and it's too late for her to try. How did she try to connect with us over the last 50 years? What is her history and accomplishments within our community?

Joe has been there with us for decades - we know him and his commitment to us will be rewarded. Bet on that...

Nobody I know and converse with about politics supports Biden and I'm not exaggerating. I question these polls. However, even if it is so, there's still time for other candidates. I applaud Elizabeth for not neglecting us or taking us for granted, even when some say it's useless.

This was Oct 2007, many AAs (including myself) were supporting Hillary. I just didn't know much about Obama. I voted for Obama in the primaries.

NH and IA setting the media narrative of who is the strongest among the field always ticks me off since neither state is representative of the Dem party's diversity. I suspect Biden and Warren will come out of IA and NH neck in neck in delegates heading into SC the first large State with real numbers of Black and Brown Democrats.

Younger blacks are obviously very open to an alternative:

CNN polling analysis from this summer showed that Biden’s overall support from black voters is 44 percent, but his support with black Americans under the age of 50 is lower, at 36 percent. CNN modeling suggested that his support is likely less than 30 percent among black voters under the age of 30.
