'Gave Me Goosebumps': Praise for Independent Video That Captures Side of Bernie Sanders

Corporate Media Ignores

A video created by independent producer Matt Orfalea in support of Sen. Bernie Sanders went viral Friday as progressives praised the five-minute ad for offering a powerful counter to the corporate media's consistently negative portrayal of Sanders and his 2020 presidential campaign.

"Legit gave me goosebumps," wrote one Twitter user, a sentiment that was echoed across social media in response to the video.

The video juxtaposes the media caricature of Sanders as an unsmiling, loud, and angry curmudgeon with clips showing the friendly and compassionate senator many supporters experience in person at rallies and town halls across the country.

"No candidate has endured more unfounded hateful attacks than Bernie Sanders. But he fights on!" tweeted Orfalea, who posted the video to YouTube Thursday.

Oh good god! GMAFB! All these claims of how "Bernie is the victim" are so laughable. You know perfectly well that's not the case.

I think it's clear to anyone who's paying attention that people say things like this (you're not the first) just an excuse to distract from the failings of the BS campaign and because the BS message isn't connecting with the AA&POC communities... and to try and explain-away the fact that BS has hit his ceiling in the polls.

it is clear you have an obvious bias against Bernie,
That's not true. I have no "bias against Bernie". Any 'bias' that I have is one that is in favor of the truth. And that's particularly true whenever it comes to the fact that I refuse to show any tolerance and acceptance for the lies and smears that are frequently told about Democrats and the Democratic party.

You know what else is not true? It's NOT TRUE that Democrats are "ideologically bankrupt". It's NOT TRUE that Democrats are "feeble". It's NOT TRUE that Democrats are "corrupt". It's NOT TRUE that the Democratic party is an "absolute failure". It's NOT TRUE that the Democratic party is "the party of the one-percent". It's NOT TRUE that the Democratic party is the "party of the elite". It's NOT TRUE that there's "no difference between Democrats and Republicans." It's NOT TRUE that Democrats are "do-nothings". It's NOT TRUE that the Democratic party "doesn't care about climate change." It's NOT TRUE that the Democrats "focus too much" on diversity. It's also NOT TRUE that people who the refuse to vote for an African-American because of his skin color "aren't racists". It's also NOT TRUE that the Democrats who "are very big into diversity" aren't "particularly sympathetic" to the working class.

All I'm trying to say is that I most certainly do have a "bias" against doing things that denigrate and divide the Democratic party, or that discourage people from supporting the Democratic party or Democratic candidates. Such things serve no good purpose. It only generates negativity. And... negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.

I think we can all agree on that, can't we?

accept constructive criticism, otherwise we do not have a democracy. However, if you have no bias regarding Bernie, why is it that every time there is a positive post regarding him, you have to come on an post something negative. I am not saying you don't have a right to do that, you certainly do. You can choose one candidate to support, and even dislike other candidates, but from what I have seen, there is a definite bias. Maybe you just don't see it.

Denigrating LIES are not "constructive criticism". I guess I just have higher standards when it comes to what actually constitutes "criticism".

However, if you have no bias regarding Bernie, why is it that every time there is a positive post regarding him, you have to come on an post something negative.
That's an exaggeration. I'm always very fair and truthful. I do not insult and attack him or smear him.

there is a definite bias.

To all DUers with an open mind, look past the obviously biased comments here and allow the video to persuade you about Bernie's candidacy on its own merits. At this point, others' opinion should matter little when such a video exists.

video.

And it will give you goosebumps too, promise!

Can't wait to hear how a propaganda film for any candidate, including Bernie, adds anything to the Primaries forum.

On edit: By no means am I comparing any candidate to Hitler. My point is that the purpose of a propaganda video is to make its subject appear sympathetic. It has no other purpose thancreate a favorable image for the subject. If it doesn't, by definition it is a failure.
