Andrew Yang has qualified for the fifth presidential primary debate, making him the eighth candidate to do so.
Yang received 3 percent support in a national poll conducted by Quinnipiac University and released on Tuesday. He has previously gotten at least 3 percent in three other polls approved by the Democratic National Committee, according to POLITICO's tracking, and has publicly said he crossed the fundraising threshold of 165,000 unique donors.
The debate will be on Nov. 20, hosted by MSNBC and The Washington Post. In late September, the DNC announced the thresholds to qualify for the November debate, the fifth of a dozen planned debates. These thresholds represented a modest increase over the requirements to get on stage for next weeks debate, and arent expected to drastically reduce the number of candidates on stage.
He joins Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer and Elizabeth Warren as the candidates who have already qualified for the November debate accounting for eight of the 12 candidates who will participate in the fourth debate next week in Westerville, Ohio.

I don't expect him to get much airtime as with 12 people on stage that would be tough from the start. I expect it to devolve into the recent attacks and counterattacks we have seen which make for good TV but lack substance about policy in my opinion.
Check his web page https://www.yang2020.com for more on him.

(13,390 posts)He is talking about the future of employment in important ways that don't dismiss the hardest parts of the conversation. Easy answers, like job training and relocation sound good, but are not nearly enough in practice. I am not sure about the details of his plans for UBI, but we need to be talking about it and looking at the possible options.
