Is Pete Buttigieg Ready to Be President? Look no further than his Campaign.

Is Pete Buttigieg Ready to Be President? Look no further than his Campaign.

Some people look at Pete Buttigieg and say “Yeah, he’s great, but he’s so young and inexperienced. He’s not ready to be president.”

On the face of it, the objection is understandable. He looks quite young and he’s “only” the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, a city of 100,000 in the heartland. Why consider him when there are multiple senators, governors, and an ex VP running?

Yet, if you look a little deeper, this objection starts to wobble.

He’s Not Actually All That Young

Buttigieg would be 39 on the day of his inauguration in Jan 2021. Since when it nearly 40 so young? This is a man in his prime.

We have all known people mature for their age, great achievers that are ageless. Look at Greta Thunberg! Given all that Buttigieg has accomplished, including becoming mayor of the fourth largest city in Indiana at age 29, having served in the military for 8 years, and earned degrees from Harvard and Oxford, it is clear that Buttigieg is of this “early overachiever” ilk.

Other world leaders are of a similar age. Emmanuel Macron in France took office at 39, Justin Trudeau in Canada at 44, Leo Vardakar in Ireland at 38, and Jacinda Arden in New Zealand at 37. Teddy Roosevelt was 42 on the day of his inauguration. JFK was 43.

11. Pete Buttigieg is MORE than ready to be President.

I hate it when people point out that he is "inexperienced". He has more experience than Donald Trump. Period.

Buttigieg has dedicated his life to serving his country and his town. He knows more about managing people than Donald. He has more experience in international affairs than Donald. Buttigieg has respect for the law and Constitution. He has the empathy and kindness (Donald has neither) that we so need right now to heal as a country.

Pete Buttigieg is MORE than ready to be President. And we are ready for him.

I like him despite his superstitions, but he looks like someone's little brother. He should keep serving the public and do this again when he's got more grey hair and something bigger than mayor on his record. I really do hope he sticks around. We need smart people once this Trumpian Age of Idiocy passes.
