Kamala Harris for Attorney General!

It is never too early to start planning a kick ass cabinet and with Harris as the AJ, our next (Democratic) president will be kicking Russian conspirator ass from here to infinity.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

2. Too political

While I think that Kamala would be an excellent AG, I also think she is too political for that role. We cannot allow ourselves to be as party-first and tribal as the GOP.

My choice for AG would be Sally Yates, former deputy AG.

3. why would she step down from Senator to be AG?

I have no idea why people continue to think this would be remotely appealing to her or even a remotely good political move.

She'll be the source of 4-8 years of people complaining about whatever she does. I'm pretty sure it would kill any future shot at being President.

VP? Sure. AG? lol.

If Hillary hadn't taken SOS she'd be President right now. It was a bad move.

Harris should stay in the Senate, continue to rock where she is strong, and build up where she needs to improve, and run again hopefully 8 years from now.

I agree with you. However, the original poster's idea was reasonable.

The original post certainly did not deserve an expression of incredulity (LOL) in reply. We need to raise the level of discourse.

it's a rather simplistic "dream team" wishful thinking.

Hey let's just take all of our candidates and combine them into a dream cabinet is not serious political thought.

4. Kamala Harris's Offices Fought Payments to Wrongly Convicted

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-10-14/kamala-harris-offices-fought-payments-to-wrongly-convicted

Jose Diaz was convicted in 1984 of rape and attempted rape. He was paroled in 1993, became a registered sex offender, and began the work of proving his innocence. It took 19 years for his conviction to be reversed -- and two more years for the State of California to grant him compensation for the time he was wrongfully imprisoned.

Diaz’s battle with Harris’ office began in 2012 when a judge reversed his conviction. As state attorney general, her staff vigorously resisted his claim for compensation and tried to make him re-register as a sex offender, despite a formal ruling in April 2013 that he was innocent.

I think she can really have an impactful career in the Senate, especially if she becomes Chair if the Judiciary Committee at some point.

12. I would rather see Bernie/Elizabeth appoint Cory Booker to be his or her AG, than Kamala Harris.

But, both should remain in the Senate. We need someone committed to breaking up the big banks, criminal justice reform, and enforcing other progressive policies... IMHO, Bernie/Elizabeth should appoint Keith Ellison, who would make an excellent AG. In any case, it'll be one of their most important cabinet positions, without a doubt.

Bernie/Elizabeth or Elizabeth/Bernie 2020!!
Either way, they're stronger together!!

Taking another AG job would likely ruin any chances of becoming president unless she reformed the hell out of the justice department.
