No one shows up to Joe Biden debate parties

From the Philadelphia Inquirer, in Biden's home state of Pennsylvania:
https://www.inquirer.com/news/joe-biden-enthusiasm-philadelphia-sad-watch-parties-elizabeth-warren-grassroots-fundraising-20191020.html

"The two men watched in silence and both left before the three-hour debate ended. A reporter turned off the TV on her way out. Bradford’s was one of three watch parties within a 20-mile radius of Center City registered with the campaign. None drew more than seven people."

“What surprises me is, Philly, you’d expect it to be Bidentown,” she said. “It really hasn’t felt like that.”

Enthusiasm matters when it comes to winning elections, whether some like to admit it or not.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

no matter who your favorite candidate is. The debates aren't real debates and they don't give the candidates a reasonable chance to explain anything; they're just fluff for the networks. I'd rather stay home and watch Netflix with my cats than go to a debate party. Maybe the apparent lack of enthusiasm has more to do with the dumb debate format and the fact that there are too many debates and too many candidates.

We'd invite everyone over to the house and would hand each of them a rubber-suction-cupped-tipped dart pistol. Whenever Bush and / or Quayle came on the screen, I'd announce, "Ready! Aim! Fire!". My old TV (32" RCA XL-100) was covered in spittle!

Debate watch parties are a thing. Have been for years. It's not everyone's cup of tea but it allows supporters to network and have fun. More relaxed than the usual get togethers which are more strategy focused.

Maybe the campaign should stop listing them on their website if this kind of publicity is unwanted.
