(7,432 posts)There may be a lot of "rightfulness" in what Gabbard expresses, especially with foreign policy. Were we to give a good listen to what the details of her perspective are, we might find a lot of areas of agreement. But Gabbard is running for national office. And because she is taking unconventional stands on issues, she can only be very detailed and forthcoming about her views if she is to survive well into the primary season.
It's possible to have a set of beliefs that run parallel to the foreign policy objectives of Russia without ever conferring with anyone directly or indirectly connected to Russia. If that's Gabbard's dilemma, she'd better be upfront about it.

(40,212 posts)Someone needs to remind her that Hillary isnt running for president, never has been president, and never had the power to single handedly determine American foreign policy.
What a completely weird video.

Because Russia "thinks" they can get her to collude with them, does not mean she is.

(20,709 posts)She made an offhand speculative comment during a podcast. It's not much a secret that Tulsi is shady and Russian media loves her (as does FOX).

(20,709 posts)Hillary didn't go on the evening news. She went on a podcast that nobody had ever heard of before this. On that podcast, she stated an opinion: she thinks Tulsi is being groomed for a third party run. She's probably right about that.
But she didn't say that to "get involved". She said it because she was talking to David Plouffe about the 2020 election.

(11,936 posts)...I kinda wanna see Hillary go on Kimmell or Colbert or wherever, and read that whole little tweet storm with all the name calling and stuff. But she has to act it out like she is Maleficent or some similar, fitting character. Because that whole thing is so funny when I read it. I couldn't even get mad about it because it was too hilarious in an embarrassing way for Tulsi. I'm sure Hillary feels the same.

(11,936 posts)I've said this in another thread but she would go on Fox and other places during the part of the Obama years that she was in office and use right wing, Islamophobic language to attack Obama on foreign policy. She has supported some awful people, in India and elsewhere. She voted against the Magnistky act.
And she is always so intense. I've seen her smile but I don't think I've ever seen her laugh. On top of everything I just said about her, she really has an odd demeanor.

(8,964 posts)It seems that Gabbard has been coming across as just another right-wing tool using Hillary Clinton as a foil in an effort to make Trump look good. Any failed foreign policy (or successful one for that matter) is the ownership of the presidency under which it occurs. With that in mind, is Hillary being re-cast as a surrogate Obama, or, since Tulsi doesn't bother to say much about the current 3-ring horror show currently in progress, is her diatribe yet another distraction to get the focus off Trump? By now, Hillary knows what Republican rat-fucking is all about, having been a prime target for three decades. She damn well knows a rat when she sees one, and her pre-emptive comments against Gabbard are well-timed, and hopefully effective advance warning if and when Tulsi makes a third-party move in an effort to sabotage the Democratic nominee.
