She Has a Plan: Warren talks anti-corruption and wealth tax in Ames visit
Under the bright lights of Stephens Auditorium, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren told a crowd of roughly 1,200 people that whatever issues brought them to her Monday night town hall, she had a plan to fix it through big structural change.
If you see a government that works great for those with money, and isnt working for anyone else, that is corruption plain and simple and we need to call it out, Warren said. When we fight back, its not going to be a couple of regulations over here, a statute there its going to be big structural change.
Her plan? Part one is an anti-corruption bill she championed as the biggest since Watergate.
We need to attack the corruption head-on, Warren said. The good news: I have the biggest anti-corruption bill since Watergate. The bad news is we need the biggest anti-corruption bill since Watergate.
