She Has a Plan: Warren talks anti-corruption and wealth tax in Ames visit

Under the bright lights of Stephens Auditorium, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren told a crowd of roughly 1,200 people that whatever issues brought them to her Monday night town hall, she had a plan to fix it — through “big structural change.”

“If you see a government that works great for those with money, and isn’t working for anyone else, that is corruption — plain and simple and we need to call it out,” Warren said. “When we fight back, it’s not going to be a couple of regulations over here, a statute there — it’s going to be big structural change.”

Her plan? Part one is an anti-corruption bill she championed as the “biggest since Watergate.”

“We need to attack the corruption head-on,” Warren said. “The good news: I have the biggest anti-corruption bill since Watergate. The bad news is we need the biggest anti-corruption bill since Watergate.”
