Yahoo News: Meet the Swing Voters Who Might Decide the 2020 ElectionInteresting article that makes clear how this election will be decided by a small group of persuadable swing voters in these battleground states and if we want to win this election and put a stop to the madness of Trump, we need to identify who these people are and how best to reach them.

(30,813 posts)If one of them is the GE candidate, there will be a whole lot of nasty BS slammed at them with regards to Medicare for All, as well as plenty of personal insults, which could bring their numbers down further.
We either need to stick with a more centrist candidate or come up with a great strategy to deal with this. Pretending it's not a problem is not a good option.

(673 posts)There are a lot of people who would support a generic republican, but dont like Trump. They will be willing to vote against him if they had a safe option. They don't want to see wholesale change, they domt want any version of socialism.
They know Biden and they arent scared of him.

(3,697 posts)It claims only 67% voted voted for Trump + Hillary with "the rest casting ballots for minor candidates". I refuse to believe 33% of any sample voted for someone other than Hillary or Trump. There's no way that many people basically threw away their vote.
Also they claim to want a "progressive agenda" but prefer a "moderate" candidate. These people seem to be confused.

(2,915 posts)so it makes sense that you would have a larger percentage who didn't vote for Trump or Hillary.
The question would be how many of these people are capable of being won over or perhaps they will just throw away their vote or not vote again.
On your last point, you misread it. They prefer "one who promises to find common ground over one who promises to fight for a progressive agenda"
