(43,415 posts)Klein is an American citizen as well, her parents were both Jewish Americans who left the United States for Canada as Vietnam War resisters. She has worked and lived in the US on and off for decades.

(9,375 posts)I am not sure where the xenophobia nonsense is coming from, but I love Canada. I am just not certain of the impact of an endorsement from Canada might have on Bernie's standing in his race for the President of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Call Bernie a xenophobe, but this is what he is running for.

(9,375 posts)As long as you keep this in mind, you may have the last word. And Bernie gets a brownie point, if precious little else, for her endorsement.

(43,415 posts)always will exercise my 1st Amendment Rights when it comes to US politics. I am sure Klein feels the same, as do hundreds of other dual-citizens on this board. It is condescendingly dismissive to try and negate citizens' opinions just because they have dual status, and/or live somewhere else at the present, and/or work outside the US.
Klein, btw, is an endowed, chaired professor at Rutgers University in New Jersey, which the last time I checked, was still in the United States.

(1,701 posts)And who claimed that Chavez had renewed the Venezuelan people's "faith in the power of democracy to improve their lives?"
That Naomi Klein?
She sure knows how to pick 'em.
I wonder if she supports Evo Morales? LOL.
Good to know Canadians are trying to interfere with our elections.
