Biden thinks Georgia may be a good place to find a veep

When former Vice President Joe Biden was in Atlanta for the Democratic presidential debate, he must have had potential running mates on his mind.

During a campaign stop in Iowa, he recently suggested a pair of Georgians as possible candidates for his old job: Stacey Abrams and Sally Yates.

He didn’t go into specifics, and he didn’t limit his options to just the two Georgians, The Des Moines Register reported.

“I could start naming people but the press will think that’s who I picked,” Biden said, and then — while eschewing names — he gave highly specific clues about who he thought were good options for No. 2 on the Democratic ticket.

While I have no doubt she would make a great VP candidate, I’m a little selfish about keeping her in our city.

But if we must give her up to join Biden, I suppose I can live with it.

Just have a feeling. Everyone is presuming it has to be a woman or person of color, all Biden has said about it is basically “It would be great to have X, Y, or Z as a VP”, so he hasn’t boxed himself in.

wouldn't bring better.

He's a top of the ticket candidate, doesn't bring his state or make it competitive and Biden's strongest base, at the moment, is PoC (specifically latinx voters, older black voters and black women). Biden's pick will probably be someone that excites the base, as 2020 will come down to turnout, or someone that plays well enough in the rust belt to secure the blue wall.

I think Pete will be an ambassador in a future Biden administration.

She already said no and in fact seemed annoyed, that she was being used as a political prop by Biden.

if he ran. We know he didn't, but he did meet with her to discuss it; she was reportedly noncommittal but open.

As we know, Hillary wanted her also and Warren joined her on the stump for a trial run, but...two women, two white women, when we'd never even had a female VP.
