I see Warren has slipped from 22% to 21% on DU. Who's getting her votes?

I continue to hope we've reached one of those historical moments and that the country will go with big changes instead of DT. If we don't make BIG changes soon in behalf of the climate we're sunk. I understand that this would require re-taking the senate and that even then we wouldn't get MFA. BUT we might get serious action on climate change. Incremental change won't do it. So I'm sticking with EW to the bitter end. Will, of course, fight really hard to beat Trump. I'd even take Williamson or Gabbard!!!!! He is utterly destroying our identity as a nation.

Edit: Back up to 22% as of 12/4. Kamala votes, I presume.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

We will lose the progressive wing of the party. Worse, we will lose energy. Any of those middle candidates (so popular here) won't draw the kind of enthusiasm that we need.

Sure, I'd vote for those 'step back to the past candidates'

but I'll pound the pavement for Warren or Sanders (and a few others .

We don't need the same old same old. We need M4A. Even people in red states want that.

not be in favor of MFA … They would no longer be stuck with a shitty insurance policy with a 5,000 dollar deductible ….When he/she or child goes to the doctor , although they have to do is hand over a card ….. No more health care bankruptcies ...All that for 1200 dollars a year .. ..Touting such a proposal is " political suicide ?" …..

Wellness visits are covered without going to the deductible for many employee plans. It is only when you really NEED insurance -thanks to a chronic or an illness needing expensive treatment or an accident - that they would find that two very important numbers for their plan are the deductible and the out of pocket maximum.

Not to mention, it is only then that you have to spend hours talking to insurance companies and provider offices to insure that the insurance company paid what it was supposed to that you realize why the administrative costs - on both of these sides are so high and add to the overall cost of American Healthcare. The fact is that many of the people I spoke to a decade ago when I needed to are in jobs of the type where far fewer would be needed under a single payer system. (That loss of jobs was one thing used against Warren)

However, many people fortunate enough just to have routine visits are convinced that the plan their company gave them (possibly negotiated by their union in lieu of higher wages) is far better than the "government provided" insurance - which they assume MFA is. These people are why Warren's walk back is a good idea -- and why it is important to keep sight on the long term goal. Much of the cost savings of single payer occur when we have a single payer system like most other countries. We are different because of the history of having over half the country (at one point) getting their insurance from their employer. What is clear is that eventually, we need to have a transition away from this -- and no one has worked out a glide path that makes that easy.

And politically that's the huge stumbling block: no matter how much you are convinced they are wrong, people do really feel that way. And taking that private insurance away is political suicide.
