Does anyone here really believe that outraising and outspending necessarily equate with winning?

https://www.npr.org/2016/04/29/476047822/sanders-campaign-has-spent-50-percent-more-than-clinton-in-2016

I pointed out in another OP that Biden was greatly outspent by both Sanders and Warren -- Sanders especially -- last year, but he's still the front-runner.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/1287404330

I'm posting the link to the NPR article above in case anyone wrongly believes that somehow Biden's leading in all the polls, despite not leading in fundraising, is some sort of fluke, unique to this race.

It isn't.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

They'd like to believe that it means that there's some hidden support somewhere, but there's really no evidence to support that assertion.

After spending $11 million during the campaign (things were cheaper back then),
Connally secured the support of only a single delegate.

I'd still rather raise more money than less money ….Why are the donor class putting so much money on Mayor Pete and pulling back on Joe Biden ? ….. Biden is the clear frontrunner ...It makes no sense ..The oligarchs always want to curry favor with the likely winner .. The q4 Bernie fundraising demonstrates incredible enthusiasm on the part of his supporters ...He is going to outperform his polling support …. By about 3% in primaries/national polling and 5% in high turnout caucuses like the one taking place in Iowa ….His base is fired up like Hell ...

For someone like Buttigieg it’s huge and can get him in the game. For someone like Sanders, it’s got to sting. He is the big money candidate and it appears he can’t seek the deal. I put Warren in a similar category as Buttigieg. Watch for Warren to go for a run at Sanders supporters more directly five days to a week before the first vote. With Biden it’s a statement of character and trust.
