(3,145 posts)I support Biden but he really comes across as dismissive to the concerns of coal miners and their families, dare I say even a little arrogant with his "if you can do X then you can do Y!" remark.
Not everyone is a coder or programmer. I couldn't do shit in that category if my life depended on it but my nephew is a whiz at such things.

(2,061 posts)I get using it as a line like I thought it was but there is no catchphrase there. Any thinking person would just look at him and say his catchphrase removes his own thought that he is qualified. Thanks for pointing out that its an actual go-to line for him.

(146,317 posts)It's not coming back. Coal miners will have to find other work to do. Those are facts. Biden's suggestion merely offers one possible alternative for those workers. There are others, of course, but people who work in mines will need to find other types of employment. It is that simple.
