Steve Schale, the head of a super PAC dedicated to helping Biden win, said the polls tell the story of why progressives are suddenly targeting Biden.
Were in the last 30 days of the campaign, and thats when people who are losing start attacking, Schale said. Its not surprising theyve taken more of a negative turn when they realized that Joe Biden after basically a year of being attacked is still the frontrunner.
In case DUers are wondering about the anti-Biden onslaught from the left, it's due to their desperation.

(59,504 posts)In fact, that would be LESS good than he did in 2016. In 2016, HRC won a very narrow victory in Iowa and then Sanders won NH by a huge margin. That surprised everyone, but it did not put him in a position to win enough delegates in the remaining states.
Although Sanders has avoided attacking Warren, i predict that Sanders people will soon be attacking Warren more than Biden. Warren stands in the way of Sanders coming close to his 2016 results. While some of her support is from people for HRC in 2016, much of it was for Sanders. There could be a huge interaction between NH and Iowa. NH could hinge on how Sanders and Warren did compared to each other in Iowa. To have a chance, I think Sanders must not just do very well in Iowa, he needs Warren to underpreform. Attacking Buttigieg or Klobuchar would be more likely to help Biden or Warren.
In Iowa, one question will be how Sanders supporters are spread over the state. If his support is similar to Howard Dean's in 2004, there will be lots of support "lost" because he falls below 15% in areas he is weaker in. Given 4 strong candidates, that might happen more than usual. In that case, the second choice of voters for candidates that fail to reach the threshold at their caucus will be extremely important.
years ago, an Iowa paper published a poll with the second choice of each candidate's supporters. I think it was 2008. I would love to see that for this year.
