(49,035 posts)the keywords I listed will turn up tweets from Warren and Sanders supporters who think Pelosi is rigging the primary race against their candidates.
Do that Twitter search yourself. There are way too many such tweets for me to list.

(49,035 posts)I saw a thread with a lot of these tweets pop up when I was doing a search on Twitter for news and tweets about Biden. I did the keyword searches to see if there were more, before I posted about it here.
I hope it won't be news to you that there've been a lot of stories in the media mentioning that an impeachment trial in the weeks before Iowa votes will pull the candidates who are in the Senate off the trail at an important time.
The conspiracy theory is the reaction of some of their supporters to those stories.
If you don't think any of the supporters of Warren and Sanders consider Pelosi an opponent of the left wing of the Democratic Party, you haven't been paying attention to the news, or DU.
I'm not suggesting all their supporters are conspiracy theorists. But since I saw posts about this divisive paranoia, I wanted DUers to be aware that it's out there, that at least one Republican strategist is encouraging it, and so Democrats should shut it down if they see it in social media forums where they participate.
We had enough trouble with people accusing the Democratic establishment of rigging the election last time. And Republicans were happy then to encourage that divisive paranoia. This is just a new variation.

(49,035 posts)conspiracy theory has been circulating, at least among some Sanders supporters.
Of course, when you get crazy opinion pieces in The Nation saying Warren and Sanders "have to tame Nancy Pelosi" -- showing how much some on the left of the party see her as an opponent -- it isn't surprising that silly conspiracy theories about her will also be hatched and set free to scurry like rhetorical cockroaches on social media.

Yesterday, my husband helped a trumpster neighbor, who gets Social Security and is insured through the VA, order something on line, and the neighbor was very concerned that the government would steal his financial data. My husband tried to reassure him, but saw no reason to try to enlighten. Anyway, this story is right up his alley, loathing of the evil DNC only one of a number of things he has in common with his counterparts on the far left.
Of course, it's not them we need to be concerned about, but those seldom- and non- voters who don't know what to think might be influenced by the toxic fumes from that direction into staying disengaged.

(49,035 posts)Warren and Sanders are considered the candidates on the left in the Democratic Party. Sanders especially, since democratic socialists are a very small group on the farthest left edge of the party. But Warren's proposals are fairly close to his.
It's silly to suggest that anyone who refers to Warren and Sanders and their supporters as being on the left is therefore on the right.
If so, that would make Common Dreams and Jacobin on the right. LOL. I can promise you they'd object to that.
I'm just using standard terminology. It's surprising you'd object to it.

(16,126 posts)see themselves as the entire party and spend a whole lot of time talking about the "far, far left".
I tire of being told that anyone who supports Warren or Sanders are so far left as to not even "really" be part of the party.
And so, I snap at people sometimes. I'm sick to death of hearing that only "moderates" or "centrists" matter and the rest of us are just supposed to accept being the red-headed stepchild of the party most of us have been part of since we were able to cast our first ballot.
And yet, you still win, because we literally have no where else to go. So, I guess I just need to suck it up and realize that life never will actually improve, because positive change happens in such tiny increments as to be nonexistent in most cases.

(49,035 posts)can't be part of the big tent of the Democratic Party.
I do get worried about the ones like AOC who suggest the tent's too big and it shouldn't include both her and Biden.
And I get offended when some Warren and Sanders supporters suggest that only the left can offer good ideas, helpful ideas, and they suggest that anything more moderate, even if still traditionally liberal, is inferior.
We do need to be able to get along, and that means compromises.
Positive change usually DOES happen in increments, mostly because dramatic changes -- or attempted changes that fail -- often lead to dramatic backlashes. But that doesn't mean gradual change is "nonexistent in most cases."
As for having nowhere else to go...I don't either. I'll have no choice but to vote for Sanders or Warren if one of them is the nominee, even though I really don't think either of them can beat Trump. (The general election polling we've seen so far shows Biden can do well against Trump despite all the GOP attacks on him, but we have no idea if the same would be true of any of our other candidates if they're subjected to that, because so far they've been spared while the GOP goes after Biden, the one they're most afraid of.) I think Biden might help enough down-ballot for Dems to regain control of the Senate as well as keep control of the House. I think the opposite is true with Warren and Sanders.
But I'll still vote for them, because I have nowhere else to go.

But hey, it's all good, an old white guy gets his shot at running things and high time too since they have barely had any chance or influence so far in our history what with the dominance of women and not-white people in government and industry.
* Media, in this case, indicates mainstream media, run by the wealthiest corporations and individuals in our society.
