Abolitionists were called Socialist. Labor activists were called Socialist. Suffragettes were called Socialists. Anti-War marchers and Hippies were called Socialist. In history, all those people were on the right side.
Not such a scary thing to identify as. ❤

Maybe check out the movie iron jawed angels. It will enlighten you.

(2,177 posts)New York, until I moved at age 25, and by the way, I don't think you are old enough to know what they were called back then.
I should correct that to say born on an Air Force base in Texas, and parents moved back to NY when I was 3 months.
