Democratic Primaries

Warren gave a really compelling "happy" report about how everyone is pitching in. One of the things that I like about her, as contrasted with Bernie, is her ability to display optimisim in almost every circumstance. It's inspiring.

(1,086 posts)Are getting some impeachment coverage on cable as they do the juror interviews. And that is interesting. Warren turns uses it to hit on corruption. Amy is tending to continue to press the Republicans, the shout out to McCaskill on her Kavanaugh vote and courage, and the mentions of the 3 Obamacare votes as shows of courage stand out.
On the ground its surrogates and technology. Following Amy and it seems that yesterday she has something like 60 surrogate events in Iowa and NH using her local endorsers and the MN house delegation and her Daughter. That ended with a Tele-Town hall that the campaign is saying 12,000 called in and the press is reporting thousands. Basically an acceleration of what would normally happen in the last weeks.
But with them stuck in Washington I believe these surrogate events take on added meaning and importance.

(1,086 posts)While no one of the events was anywhere as large as they would have been with the candidate. However they seem to have slightly more then expected turnout.
But what they did have was a ton more press coverage. Coverage that they would not have had and as important coverage across all venues. So for example NH tv had nit only the press conference from Amy's surrogates it had later in the day coverage of more then one of the events after the dispersed. That is coverage that would only have been on the Candidate normally.

(4,558 posts)Was a good story on CNN about the impeachment time constraints for Candidates. One that looked pretty cool was Amy giving a webinar of some type, and her face was great when they told her there were 12,000 Iowans in it.
On edit, for accuracy, they just re-ran that clip, and it's wasn't 12,000 Iowans, but 12,000 people on the call. It was a call for Iowa though, but I don't want to misrepresent numbers or what was actually said in the clip.
