Bloomberg hits 12 percent, surpasses Buttigieg in new national poll

Democratic presidential hopeful Michael Bloomberg hit double digits in a new Morning Consult poll on Tuesday, marking the latest sign of his campaign's growing support since launching in November.

Twelve percent of Democratic primary voters supported Bloomberg in the poll, putting the former New York City mayor above former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 7 percent, businessman Andrew Yang at 5 percent and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) at 3 percent.

Former Vice President Joe Biden led the field with 29 percent support, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) at 23 percent. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) rounded out the poll's top three spots with 14 percent support.

The survey is the latest sign that Bloomberg's massive advertising campaign appears to be paying off in the polls. Bloomberg also appears to be making inroads among lawmakers, scoring his fifth congressional endorsement on Monday.

The Morning Consult survey was conducted Jan. 20–26 and is based on 17,836 surveys with Democratic primary voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage point.

he will win zero primaries as no true democrat will vote for a republican in a democratic primary for president.

10. You're incorrect. He will win delegates in several primaries.

Just watch. He won't win any of them, but he'll win delegates. He will do better than you think, I'm certain.

Then, he'll be endorsing a candidate when it's clear he won't be the nominee. He's smart. He knows that.

Who do you suppose he'll endorse? Who will his delegates vote for?

Think on a larger scale. That's what I recommend.

In the first place, Biden's not going to stumble. He'll exit the first four primaries with more delegates than anyone else, thanks to South Carolina. Iowa and New Hampshire will divide up their delegates among four candidates, and SC will go for Biden.

Judging by Bloomberg's ads, many of which I see daily on the evening broadcast network news, he's not really running for the nomination. At some point, he'll drop out and endorse someone. Guess who that will be, if you can...

for a candidate JUST LIKE their image of Biden.

If by stumble you mean a very minor stumble that just takes someone to toss him a few delegates to sew it up - yup, Bloomberg could help there, and probably will. I don't see that as a bad thing.

I wonder if Pete still thinks the influence of money in our political process isn’t a big part of the problem. I would call this poetic justice but, I still think it would be a disaster if Bloomberg were the nominee.
