The Democratic Primary Candidates Are Being Pretty Polite, Overall.

They're not directly attacking their competitors or using oppo research on them. Some of their supporters are, but that's beside the point, really.

Whoever comes out on top and gets the nomination, though, will get a different sort of treatment in the GE campaign. Very different. The oppo research will all be front and center. Old videos of the nominee saying strange things will become negative ads immediately. All of those things are already known and ready to go.

Attacks by the Republicans will not be at all polite, like things are during the primary race. Nope. They'll be ugly and pointed and put the Democratic nominee in the worst possible light. We've seen some of the stuff they'll be using, but not in any way as much as we will later. Supporters of one or the other candidates have already posted some of the negative stuff here and elsewhere on the Internet. Those supporters think it helps their cause during the primary, when, in reality it just lines up the materials for the Republicans to use.

I've seen almost all of it, at one time or another. That's one of the reasons I'm supporting Joe Biden for the nomination. If you've seen any of the negative material, you'll understand why I think the Republicans will destroy most of the other candidates outright if they become the nominee.

Maybe you've seen that stuff, too.
