(94,699 posts)...that in the totality of the Primary process, a lot of voters have a preference who drops out over time and they have to choose someone else. The Iowa Caucus just speeds that up.

(7,871 posts)...but I think it was on MSNBC and they said that the Warren and Klobuchar camps were one short of viability, but were looking for one more to become viable -- how is that possible? I thought they said that once the first counts were done, it's done. I thought they said they wouldn't be able to try to win people over after the first viability count, you are either viable and move on to the next round or you are not and can choose to support one of the viable candidates...

In the segment I was watching, they already had a written vote total and said that Klobuchar and Warren were not viable, therefore, how can they still be looking to get one more person to become viable? I thought that was against the rules this time around.

(7,871 posts)...number of supporters in that first vote count. MSNBC just showed the place I am talking about (in a yellow Mustangs gym) and originally Warren and Klobuchar had the same amount of people, both of which were non-viable, but since they have said that Warren gained three supporters (one from Steyer, two from Klobuchar) and became viable, but I don't see how that is possible, unless that first written vote count was just a preliminary thing and not the official first vote...
