(34,071 posts)that iowa voters were commenting that it was confusing and chaotic -- there were a couple places that showed crowds of voters hanging around, wondering why they weren't able to get tallies (it was at 10:30 central time), and waiting for some results
news also mentioned that people were wondering if this mess had to do with the rules that had been changed
(i don't really get this caucus business so i don't know what it used to be like and how tallies were gotten compared to how it was done tonight)

(8,144 posts)Questioning is not de-legitimizing. When Joe Biden openly discounts the results, disputes them,
Seth Abramson can talk.
This is a damned mess and there will be questions probably for some time, raised by many people.
Biden and supporters did not expect IA to be a big win for him. The former VP is not known for
playing political games or whining.
BS to Seth Abramson.

(1,604 posts)Washington State abandoned them in 2018 - they were unrepresentative, rancorous, tended to favor a very select slice of the population, and were frequently unorganized. Sanders won in 2016 at the caucuses to Clinton, but placed a distant second in the non-binding election testing the move towards a regular vote. Maybe 5,000 total voted in the Caucus, while there were more than a million votes in the election.
I honestly hope this will put a stake in the Iowa Caucus in particular. It's a relic, and a not particularly good one.
