for the Sanders campaign if they were just open, and not engaging in all the subtle, passive-aggressive stuff they do.

8. That total may not represent individuals who are donating. As we've seen

many individuals will donate $10 over and over, some as many as 25 times.

So individuals may be donating under $200 but doing it over and over again for a much bigger donation total.

9. Well, they are reporting over 500,000 individual donors (not donations).

525,000 donors and 900,000 donations with an average donation size of $20 accoding to the Daily Beast https://www.thedailybeast.com/bernie-sanders-2020-fundraising-haul-dollar182-million-raised-in-first-quarter

Using round numbers $18.2 mill divided up between 525k donors is less than $35 per donor. And 900k donations divided up between 525k donors is about 1.7 donations per donor.

That's just an average obviously, but it implies that almost none of his donors have maxed out.
I personally donated $27 the day he announced and then about a month later another $10 and I've set that as a recurring donation every month, so that average seems pretty accurate.

They wanted to get to a million donations, but didn't quite make it.

10. Right - the average donation amount doesn't represent the average amount donated by an individual.

Because individuals often make more than one donation.

11. I know that. I just explained to you how there would be very few of those types of donors..

..given what the spread of his individual donor and donation numbers reflect.

I still think he’s sincere in his beliefs and principles, but all the attention has gone to his head and affected the rest of his campaign. This is NOT the time to criticize other Democrats.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
