what joe needs to do next.

first, let me say, as an extreme hugger myself, i find it sad to be in a time where hugs are a touchy subject. we need more hugs today. it's why i love my volunteer job.

but we need to grapple w this subject, and uncle joe is a guy who can lead us through this if he chooses to lead.
he should reach out to anyone who says he made them uncomfortable, and talk it out w them. apologize sincerely, and encourage them to speak out in the moment. talk about what the future should look like.

i think that #metoo is a transitional movement that has the potential to write a new set of rules for men AND women. it should be about how this should work in the future, not just about stuff that happened in the past.
at this point i think that it should empower women to act in the moment. it is a giant leap forward for women to not just swallow hard and walk away, changing nothing, but to speak in the moment, start an actual conversation, sparking change.
there will be uncomfortable interactions, face to face.
but we cant afford to just throw away good people who made honest mistakes in the past to avoid those conversations.
there has to be a road for redemption. a way of reckoning. in some cases, restitution. there has to be a way to move forward.

joe should engage whoever wants to talk to him. and listen hard.
i trust his heart to be in the right place here.
i trust that he can make change, and model more respectful behavior. a new etiquette that helps us move forward.

let's have this incredibly important conversation in the marketplace of ideas. lets address this w something besides no-win cancel culture.

man i cant wait for the debates. gillibrand and biden, having an intelligent conversation about this issue. and all those women on the stage.

c'mon joe.
lead.

2. Gillibrand can't talk well about this, she's the first to demonize someone without getting the facts

Amy Klobuchar, however, acted like a professional adult and I'd love to listen to what she & Mayor Pete & Biden have to say. I do have to say I am disappointed in LIz jumping on the bash Biden bus. She has really good policies, but is too quick to jump on a fellow Dem without getting all the facts first or considering the whole picture.

sorta like the ayn rand club- start the debate there, that this is a ridiculous and unworkable mindset. now lets see how far up the ladder we can get from there.
we are up a couple rungs from the law of the jungle, but there is much that needs to happen to move through this.
