I finally found a way to deal with MAGA-hat customers at my job.

Part of my job is to register patients when they check into the clinic and direct them to the correct floor. Naturally, we have to be courteous and welcoming to all of our HMO members, which I find easy to do because 99.9% are very pleasant. However, once or twice a week I get a guy--and it's always an older white guy--wearing an obnoxious MAGA hat. Until this week I've been grinning-and-bearing it, polite but terse. The last time it happened I remembered the plastic "Bernie" beverage holder on my desk that I sip from all day, and while the patient was getting his membership card out to check-in, I reached over and slowly took another sip from my Bernie cup, making sure he could see it. I then smiled, thanked him, and sweetly told him where his appointment was. He frowned and stalked off. I'm going to do that every. single. time. now.

Those MAGA hats are as obnoxious as the people who wear them. I don’t know why a MAGA hat wearer would would want to publicize the fact that they support a racist, ignorant bully, unless they too are a racist, ignorant bully.

I am still, at this point, undecided, although I do like Bernie. I'm still feeling like we need a woman candidate. Ultimately, of course, I'm 100% in for the candidate we nominate.

9. I had a customer come in the other day

with a sleeveless shirt on with what was supposed to look like the American flag on it. But, across the flag it said "trump". More proof these nazis are cult members. His teenage daughter did not seem happy to be out and about with him.
