Biden Plummets in the Morning Consult Poll

Biden:teal, Sanders: black, Warren: purple, Bloomberg: Orange, Buttigieg: brown

The Morning Consult Poll has consistently been Joe's strongest major poll.

No longer, Sanders has moved into 1st place.

Biden is now dropping like a rock, and Michael Bloomberg has taken those voters and surged to 3rd place.

That's a very dramatic change in this previously static poll of over 15,000 responders.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Yeah, he should have provided that as a label.

Will add this to the OP.

Thanks.

4. Yes. The only possible explanation for Biden dropping in the polls is Putin.

It can't possibly be that people just want someone else. It can't be because he's put his foot in his mouth a few times recently. It can't be because he just isn't connecting with people.

PUTIN! Yeah, that's the only possible explanation. Occam's razor be damned.

And I could be a paranoid old cold-warrior.

But as long as we beat trump, I'm happy.

If you are running an intelligence operation you would prefer an alternate explanation.

If you are cheating in an election you want your candidate to win by a thin margin.

The Presidency is for sale. Highest bidder wins. Good bye what's left of our Democracy. Now it's billionaire against (alleged) billionaire. So much for the common man.

Going all out for Bloomberg this week, even here on DU. They may have Biden as their choice, but they are pushing for Bloomberg.

viability of their campaign, and how long to stay in before it becomes counter-productive

Right now Sanders and Warren are competing for the same block of votes, and

Amy, Pete, Biden, and Bloomberg are competing for the same block of votes

From Morning Consult Tracking Poll:

Sanders 25%
Biden 22%
Bloomberg 17%
Buttigieg 11%
Warren 11%
Yang 4%
Klobuchar 3%
Steyer 3%
Bennet 1%
Gabbard 1%
Patrick 0%

There is no point in anyone dropping about before then. It's only 3 weeks away.

California could really shake up the race, it has an enormous number of delegates.

The California delegation to the 2020 Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee July 13-16 will be comprised of 416 pledged delegates, 35 alternates and 79 unpledged delegates.

block of votes.

Unfortunately, there are enough open primaries where republicans, who are included in these polls, are skewing the results. That along with the fact that Bloomberg is diluting the votes for Joe, Amy, and Pete, which is favorable to Sanders.

Everything will be dependent on Super Tuesday, whether those votes will unify primarily behind one candidate in the Joe, Amy, Pete, and Bloomberg block, or split the votes between them.

What will be interesting will be if Warren can get traction from her Texas background in Super Tuesday over Sanders from their shared block.
