The final vote count in New Hampshire was 25.7% Bernie, 24.4% Pete, 19.8% Amy.

I definitely think Amy's late surge cost Mayor Pete a chance at victory in New Hampshire. And possibly a larger victory in Iowa.

He was so close. But without clear and decisive victories in IA and NH it may be hard to break through in Nevada. It definitely affects his ability to win the endorsement of the Culinary Workers Union, which could help him get that victory.

As for Amy, she is reminding me of Lamar Alexander in 1996. No wins and nowhere to go after the first two states. I guess Huntsman '12 and Kasich '16 are also good comparisons.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

They're reasonably liberal on social issues, which is the only thing keeping it a purple state. Sure, Sanders should do well there, but the idea that he should dominate in such a crowded field is pretty ignorant.

Their state motto is "Live Free or Die."

I don't know what your definition of impressive is, but that's just plain abysmal by any and all standards.

What's the old baseball saying, “A bloop hit looks like a line drive in the box score.” ?

No, Bernie didn't go yard in NH, but he won. And a win is a win is a win, as they say. Now 8.4%?....that's more like an 0-5 with three whiffs. Not a very good day at the plate.

BTW...Bernie is from Vermont.

Not with Pete outperforming her in the first two states and Bloomberg moving up.

If Amy wants to stay a force in the race then she needs a big day in Nevada. It won't wait until South Carolina, not with Steyer doing well out there and Biden having a good amount of support.

At the bare minimum, Amy will have to take second in Nevada. Otherwise she will fade fast as we head to Super Tuesday.

I am not sure if Nevada caucus goers have the right to go for Michael Bloomberg, or if that is not allowed under the rules.

Almost no support among POC, and they - as underdogs always do - put most all their resources into IA and NH (in hopes of building enough momentum/donations to stay viable). The fiasco in IA threw Klobuchar a lifeline after she finished 5th in a state that borders her own.

But it's tough to see either of them racking up wins going forward. Time will tell.

That being said, we should not condemn anyone who may decide to make that request. It is never wrong to ask for a recount and we should never validate the claim that there is.

Republicans have been condemning recounts in a dangerous way for a long time. Bush vs. Gore 2000. The 2004 Washington gubernatorial election. The 2008 Minnesota senate race. The 2018 Florida Senate race. They do this in order to suppress democracy.

And quite honestly there should have been a recount in Michigan in 2016 to make certain that Vladimir Putin didn't change the election results.

So let's not go down the road of suggesting that it is unethical or wrong to ask for a recount. In the end, it will only benefit the GOP as they continue their assault on our democracy in a myriad of ways.

You seem to be suggesting that it would be wrong to ask for a recount in NH.

As I said, I cannot imagine it would change the results, and I don't expect anyone to ask for one. But we should never suggest that it is wrong to make such a request. That is what Republicans do and they are wrong to hold that position.
