.

When corporate, public and local area pay and benefits increase, all pay and benefits adjust higher.

When corporate, public and local area pay and benefits decrease, all pay and benefits adjust lower.

As unions decrease, as benefits are cut and pay lowers, corporate HR matches them.

So, when public jobs and unions lose, it affects the corporate worker too.

It basically breaks down to two main reasons for big unions.
First because of the pool of workers, it allows the companies to have the possibility of controlling their costs by giving them (the companies) leverage in negotiations with providers. While buffering compensation from some of the natural inflation.

The other is that they know that they will not be able to recoup all of the total compensation that would result in the change and until the actual bill and tax burdens are seen cannot actually determine how big a hit they will take. They would much prefer to be in a position to negotiate the transition to at least keep the compensation balanced.

I'm just saying that if M4A is where we end up the resistance to it is massive and not even irrational.

It is really unfortunate that M4A has become a litmus test. If it was presented as one end of a spectrum in implementation we would be in a much better place.

If we were arguing more on the immediate steps of what we can do to get ready for it we would be I a stronger place.

it's healthcare, and despite your insistence, neither do you. Polls consistently show MFA as a massive loser at the polls, that would indicate that many Americans have serious concerns about it.

Please don't pull that shit saying "we are democrats". Sanders and Warren hardcore supporters constantly pull that stuff on people that question the logic or the feasibility of their proposals. No democrat want to see people without healthcare, but many democrats believe that MFA is not the best vehicle for getting us there.
