Why I asked Mike Bloomberg to consider accepting donations

Yesterday I wrote to his campaign. I'll admit it: I'm getting excited.

I thanked him and told him I viewed what he was doing as "the greatest act of philanthropy in human history."

I asked him to please accept donations. Why? Because if I'm going to be rescued, I at least want to feel like I've participated in my own rescue. Do you understand what I'm saying?

He'd pee his pants in laughter at the amount I could give, but to me it's partly symbolic.

I want to help save myself, I don't want to be completely saved by someone else. Besides, the cost shouldn't fall only on him.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

down ticket candidates or the party itself. That Bloomberg is shouldering the expense of his campaign is fine with me. If he is the nominee he will get my vote and what money I could donate to candidates can go to other campaigns.

of the campaign. But I saw him talk about this and he said he didn't want to accept even a dollar from people because he has pledged to sponsor himself and take big money. I'm paraphrasing what he said but that is the gist of it.

At least now we can buy bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc.

7. Since he's self financed, I'll be donating to down ticket Dems

Being on SSDI, I can't donate much each month but someone or some others will benefit from my meager funds rather then it going to the presidential race.

8. The only value to Bloomberg is his ability to self fund.

If that ends up as a scenario we can put money into Senate campaigns.

That's a lot more political experience than the Great Pumpkin had when he assumed office. Bloomberg has more value than just his wealth (even if the wealth is the biggest thing, and it is).

Why is he not seen in the same light as Bloomberg?

I think the Democratic electorate needs to have a choice of a non-plutocrat.

Mayor Pete is the least plutocratic of them all, and he's currently leading in delegates.

I've said that by the time the SC primary comes around (pretty soon now) that I was going to vote for either Joe Biden or Pete Buttigieg, whichever one looked the most viable. I'd like to see some recent polling in this state.

9. I have no problem with Bloomberg bearing 100% of the economic cost of defeating Trump.

Evidently, Bloomberg doesn't mind either. I bear my own "economic cost" by struggling to exist in this rapacious economy.
