Bloomberg is the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump

Bloomberg is self-funding his campaign. He’s not taking a dollar from anyone. He knows he’s been fortunate in life and doesn’t think it’s right to ask other people to give money to someone who doesn’t need it. And, by not accepting donations, Bloomberg is not beholden to any special interests. As New York City’s mayor for 12 years, he acted independently and made every decision with the best interests of all New Yorkers in mind.

As president, Bloomberg will do the same thing. Unlike our current president, Bloomberg will put the interests of the American people first.

Last month, some Democratic presidential candidates and their surrogates criticized former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg for not participating in the debates. One of Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-Mass.) surrogates even asked the DNC to change the rules so that Bloomberg would be included.

After the DNC announced its latest criteria, other candidates are now complaining that Bloomberg might be in the next debate. They are claiming he’s responsible for the rule change. That’s not true. The DNC sets its own rules. Bloomberg has said from the beginning of his campaign that he will adhere to the DNC’s rules like everyone else. He may qualify for the next debate because he’s been rising in national polls.

And he is running the strongest campaign with support from a broad coalition of Americans that will only keep growing once voting starts. Bloomberg has 2,000 campaign staffers in 43 states, including all Super Tuesday states. He has received 120 endorsements, including more than 60 mayors, 13 congressional representatives, and two state-wide elected officials. In just the past week, Bloomberg received more than 39 new endorsements, including one governor, six members of Congress, 32 mayors, and Trump’s own former Navy Secretary, Richard V. Spencer.

The problem is that if I wanted to vote for a Republican.
I'd register as one. Much as Mayor Bloomberg should.

For 2 of those 3 terms as Mayor, he was an R.

It's really funny how super tolerant everyone is of this!

The fact that as the 8th most wealthy man on earth he can buy
a whole lot of "coalition", and into the DNC debates over others
of ethnicity who couldn't make the "now lifted" cut.

Impresses me not.

It would be madness not just to deny him the stage, but to deny his opponents the right to directly engage him.

The candidates who dropped out wouldn’t have benefitted from this change, their numbers were barely measurable, nothing like where Bloomberg is now.

going to say someone is disqualify-able because they were once members of a different party, we need to apply the criterion to all of them.

Beside the fact that I think the fact billionaires exist in this society shows a failure in tax policy, I just don't think Bloomberg would be a good president. The whole stop and frisk thing is a prime example.

Sometimes I wonder if it is the wealth that makes some of these people so tone deaf.

So would Joe Biden.

If Biden goes all the way to the convention, he and Bloomberg will probably be about even, delegate-wise, I'd guess at this point.

If Biden folks, which could happen, most of his supporters would shift to Bloomberg, I think, as would supporters from some other candidates.

I think it's entirely possible that Bloomberg will pass Joe Biden in the delegate count after the Super Tuesday primaries. He's put a huge amojnt of money into those states, and it's showing already in his poll numbers.

There's more buzz about Bloomberg right now, for example, in Minnesota than for any other candidate right now. He's not attracting any Sanders fans, of course, but he's certainly attracting people who have supported other candidates. My wife, who has been solid for Biden, has changed her mind and will now vote for Bloomberg in the primary. I'm waiting to see what Biden does in SC and NV. Then I'll decide whether to vote for Biden or Bloomberg. None of the other candidates have any chance at my primary vote.

If Biden continues to falter, you're going to see Bloomberg shoot up on March 3, as people shift to him.

It's going to be very interesting.
