Three tweet thread starting here, the first tweet just "SIREN" and the Culinary Union's announcement of their press conference this afternoon. Text of the next two tweets below.

Ralston Reports, or something like that.

Notice that Jon Ralston does not supply rip off odds. That jumped out at me immediately.

If numbers like that sourced from an actual bookmaker you'd have scared numbers like 3/5, then 4/5, then Even money, then 2/1, with the longshot maybe 5/1.

Unabashed thievery in that state

5. The union leaders or the workers? Did the members vote? Will they give details on how the members

voted, if they did?

'Cause I saw that workers have an online document for Culinary members to use to stand in support of Bernie Sanders. They just started it today so it will be interesting to see if/when they release figures. I think many of the workers will remember this:

Also a very interesting read on what health benefits the Union actually provides and how much it costs members to actually use it.

“We went on strike to protect our health care, health care I need for my family,” Munoz said. “We love our culinary health care. We want to keep it. We don’t want to change it. Why would you change it?”

U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar returned to Las Vegas Saturday for the latest round of Culinary Union Local 226 presidential candidate forums, where she mixed moderate proposals and attacks on President Donald Trump with jokes and personal stories during her 40-minute question-and-answer session. The Minnesota senator was well-received by a crowded union hall assembled on a Saturday morning.

The town hall was part of a series hosted by the powerful union and its parent organization, UNITE HERE. Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg hit the stage after Klobuchar.

— Health care the top issue As with previous town halls, the culinary union laid down a marker on health care: Its members fought to get the best benefits in the state, and they want to keep them.

Klobuchar, who has opposed Medicare for All in the Senate and on the campaign trail, breezed through the question by promising exactly that. She shared an anecdote about needing to build bridges, not blow them up, to get across Minnesota’s many lakes.

“We do not want to take those benefits away,” she said. “We do not want to blow those up. And that’s why I believe in a public option and expanding on the Affordable Care Act.”

9. Gee. The union endorsements that Sanders got all gave the member information in the press release.

Are you saying this endorsement wasn't from weeks of surveying their members? Just a quick decision by the union heads on who their union is going to choose to support with no member input? That's not what I expect from a democratic union.
