Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumIf I had to vote today, I'd vote for Sanders.
Looks like it's between him and Bloomberg, and between those two I trust Bernie more, so as of now I'm team Bernie.

(65,174 posts)For me Bloomberg (goes against what Bernie is most about) is last and Warren is second - still havent ruled out voting for Warren completely.

Of all of our candidates I'd have the most issue with Bloomberg but in the end - he ain't Trump, and that's that.

(65,174 posts)I dont have any other choice. I would really hate if it was Bloomberg, but I think the country wouldnt survive 4 more years of Trump.

(11,989 posts)then yeah, I think it's very possible that Sanders could do better against Trump than Bloomberg, especially since supposedly we'll have Bloomberg's financial resources behind us either way.

(2,345 posts)Sanders past performance is indicative of how he and his supporters will act when he does not win.
Sanders supporters will find some negative trait to latch onto and suckle it until the minor email-like issue becomes a catastrophic flow of fail-milk. They will sit at home and pout.
Everyone else will have to pick up their slack and GOTV!

(22,913 posts)One of the reasons why I did so was because I thought she was showing signs of not being able to forge a winning coalition (her fund raising totals were just being released). I would have been happy to remain in Warren's camp, and would still be happy if she somehow became our nominee.

(115,103 posts)or we spend 4 months talking about how Bloomberg is suddenly sorry about massive civil rights violations that he ignored but claimed no one told him about.
Oh, and the Central Park 5.
I know which set of smears I'd rather defend against.

In fact if he didn't win, his policies would probably never have a chance to be considered again.

(115,103 posts)His candidacy was a breath of fresh air. I don't agree with him 100% on every issue but on the whole I found him to be the leader with the qualities I most would like to see in the WH. And his economics policy was the one I've been waiting for for decades. The execution of it wasn't perfect, but it was passable in a Congress with conservative Dems and republicans, and it would have done so much for so many. I really do wish he had caught on.

(115,103 posts)Nobody is perfect, and I don't love any candidate's policy proposals 100%.
But they're both supportive of democratic party goals - prioritizing the environment, most importantly - so I don't find it all that hard to put other things aside and get behind them.
We have one planet. That's it.
