re. Peter Paul Buttigieg and liberation theology

I was watching an oldish (Edit: can't be that old as this book he is critiquing only came out this January...) interview on TRNN with Michael Fox, defrocked Dominican, speaking of liberation theology and applauding his efforts in this direction. I, personally, being a fan of liberation theology, thought, why isn't anyone talking about this?
I tried to google it, but the algorithms only turn up right wing bullshit Christianity commentary.
for the record, I am an atheist, but believe the church/any religion can provide kind guidance in general.

Here's the clip. Go to 20 minutes. Fox refers to him as Paul Buttigieg but it is unmistakably him.
Encouraged as it leads me to believe his foreign policy in South America would be to support governments that care for all people and that he might be persuaded to end the Marshall Plan.
