33. Chuck Todd's knock on Sanders' anti-fracking also applies to Sanders' health care plan
Wed Feb 19, 2020, 11:07 PM
Feb 2020

People have jobs in fracking and they work in health care, including insurance. What happens to them?

I'm not saying we shouldn't eliminate the use of fossil fuels and have national health insurance. But we need an answer for the people whose jobs would be precipitously lost if we do them without transition time and do them radically and clumsily. Everyone needs to be covered.

Wed Feb 19, 2020, 11:20 PM
Feb 2020

There is a lot of automation in the insurance claims world but not everything is manageable by computer. There will be more people covered, therefore more claims to process.

There are a number of ways this could be handled - subcontract the claims shop to the existing workers. Make them bid on the contracts, like in the early days of Medicare.
