"Vote Blue No Matter Who"

I had a good long think last night. Sanders is not my choice, in fact he is at the bottom of any list I would have. But this is what I have come to conclude: This is not about me or who I think should get the nomination. This upcoming election is about one thing and that is getting Trump out of The White House. Period. If Sanders gets the nomination, no matter how one feels about him or his policies (none of which will come to fruition even if we somehow magically get the Senate back), we all must vote for him and get every democrat we know to vote for him. This election is about democracy. This election is about The Supreme Court, the Federal Judiciary, reproductive rights, civil rights, voting rights, the right to a public education, access to health care, the sustainability of the planet, and even food security. It every single thing that has made America and the world a place we want to live in.

It is not about us. It is about something bigger than any individual.

The truth is that if Bernie wins the nomination and wins the election he will soon learn as most presidents have that governing isn't a campaign. He will not have a sycophantic Senate or House to grovel at his feet. He will actually have to do the job of being the president of all Americans. I think he knows that.

And one more thing: the primaries are not over. A day in politics can be a lifetime. Things can change in a day. We don't know who will be the nominee. But whoever it is, we must vote blue.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Sanders just starts from a more leftist place before we start compromising. So we'll be just fine.

He's calling for M4A, we'll eventually compromise down to a public options for those who want it, which is what Pete wants.

All our candidates are excellent choices. I'm well to the left of Pete but am still going to see him at his town hall today anyway.

He's well aware that DC is a giant sausage factory, just as Elizabeth Warren is. And that's exactly what democracy is supposed to be. You don't get exactly your way, but neither do I. We come up with something we can both live with and move on to the next problem. Why Americans still, to this day, can't seem to understand that, I'll never know.

I don't care who wins the nomination at this point, they will become my favorite because it will be MY JOB to help them defeat Trump.

We must vote blue. It doesn't matter how far down our personal list that person falls, it is more important that we get rid of that orange man than it is to be "right" or to dislike someone's policy ideas.

Those 2 would be more willing to cooperate with the economic myths of the GOP. "Free" trade, austerity, trickle down, tax giveaways for the filthy rich, deficits are bad except for when the GOP do them, destroying society is good, free trade agreements are good, bailouts for bankers but NOT the middle class are necessary, and privatization is cheaper, are economic myths that are held by many filthy rich GOPers and some filthy rich Dems buy into them too.

But if the Democratic primary winner is one of those who buys into those economic myths, I will shake my head and vote for them anyway. But after the election, I would protests in an effort to change their mind.
