Democratic Primaries

TX CD 22 is an open seat with Pete Olson retiring. The DCCC has targeted this seat for flipping. There are 15 candidates in GOP primary including the grandson of GHW Bush. Another candidate, Kathleen Wall, is running in the GOP primary and she spent $6 million in 2018 running in GOP primary for TX CD 2 and did not make GOP primary runoff. I have had Wall block walkers come to my house twice (I live in a very GOP neighborhood) and I have found Wall doorhanger on my door twice now.

Sri Preston Kulkarni is the leading Democrat for this seat (Sri has a GOP type and another person running against him in the Texas Democratic Primary) I texted this ad to Sri and he knew about it already. Sri Preston Kulkarni is a great guy and we need to flip this seat
If sanders is the nominee, we can forget about this seat and we will have Kevin McCarthy as speaker

(22,270 posts)for TX 12 when/if #KremlinKay ever retires. He has residency in the district and is currently Texas Land Commissioner which is a statewide office. That plus his last name will put him in position to be the nominee whenever #KremlinKay does step down. It will truly shock me if this does not happen.
TX 12 is mostly Fort Worth, but a large swatch of rural (Republican) area was attached to it in some past gerrymandering), so it is difficult to gain traction in the Congressional race. It hasn't helped that our collective depression over the rise of the Republicans has resulted in very few serious challengers. The other problem is that Granger was a very popular Ft Worth Mayor with little done to erase that collective memory. She actually started out fairly moderate, but has gotten worse and worse until now she is one of #45's pet Congresscritters. She was on that junket to Russia on the 4th of July a few years ago - the only Representative and the only woman on that trip.
When TX 12 was pretty much just Fort Worth and a few suburbs, we sent Jim Wright to Congress with essentially no competition. TX 6 (Joe Barton's old district) was Democratic for years until it was redrawn in 1991.. and we lost Martin Frost.
