Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumUndecided
So we have groups here on DU dedicated to each major Democratic Primary Candidate for 2020 (thus far). How about a dedicated Forum for Undecided Folk, where we can go to have positive discussions about Candidates and our decision-making process? Just a thought.

(713 posts)But I would hope that we could have more than just a Thread, but maybe a whole Forum or Group. There is an entire section here on DU listing all the major Democratic Candidates for 2020, listed in alphabetical order.
You can read any of them, but you can only post if you are signed up as a supporter of that Candidate (example- only Biden people can post in the Biden 2020 section, just as only Sanders people or Harris people can only post in their respective sections).
What I would maybe like to see is at the bottom of the list of alphabetical 2020 Candidates a section titled "Undecided 2020".

(713 posts)What inspired meto post this Thread was going to the Bernie Sanders 2020 section and wanting to post, but not being able to because I am Undecided. I want to see some more "inter-disciplinary" discussions on ALL of the candidates. I am really optimistic at this point. I think that we have a lot of good people running.

I am Undecided, but there are candidates I like and do not like. I also have limited opinions on candidates that I do not have enough information on.
I really want to do some comparison shopping. I want to see these candidates engage in a good discussion with the American People.
I also want to see how they handle being in the Media Spotlight. I want to see them debate each other (respectfully, I hope).
I think we have a really great list of candidates. I am looking forward to seeing more of them as time goes on.

(65,173 posts)I was a big Bernie supporter last time and may support him again. But I want to be more open to other candidates. It is so important to win, and it may take time to see who has the best chance.

(713 posts)I do think that people need to take time to get to know all of the candidates. I might be leaning towards various candidates (and away from others) but right now it would be premature (for me) to choose a candidate this early on.
I wonder if anyone knows any Admins here on DU? Maybe we could Message them and ask if they would consider opening a Group specifically for Undecideds?

(713 posts)I just would like to see a dedicated space for Undecideds the same way each individual candidate has their own dedicated space. There is a Biden 2020 Group, a Harris 2020 Group, a Sanders 2020 Group. How about an Undecided 2020 Group?

(713 posts)I would point out that 46% of people here on DU currently identify as Undecided. That is a large plurality. It might be nice to have a dedicated section for Undecided people.

(42,770 posts)A perm place where people could just post ..
a case for candidate x. With rules ...no bashing anyone else:
* explain pros and cons and mitigating factors of that candidate
* background, experience, education,
* specifically how they could win swing states,
like an outline. Then there would be a place to go to learn about each one.

(713 posts)I agree with what you just posted, especially about pros and cons and respectful discussion. I think that it is too soon for people to be headed into their bunkers with their respective candidates.
We need to get to know these candidates and compare them to each other. I will not be making a decision at least until after seeing these candidates debate each other.
Also, I just sent a suggestion for an Undecided Group to the DU Admins in the past hour or so. Nothing back from them so far. Anyway, I like your outline. Thanks for posting here.
