After much thought and some pretty strong feelings I have decided

not to support any democratic primary candidate because I am Canadian. This election is not my call. I have strong feelings one way but can get too caught up. There should be no election interference from either Canada or Russia or anywhere else outside of Americans. I will continue to post good articles, articles about various candidates too, and advocate for good debate but will try not to be partisan in this race.

And, in this case, I appreciate your simple honesty and your respect for our political process.

I'm focusing on who can win in November. It's not who I like. I'm looking for who can beat trump.

Did I say something that indicates that I disagree with that reality?

And I'm not sure why the candidate you "like" (your description, not mine) can't also be a winner.

For instance, I support Pete Buttigieg because of his wide range of military experience, scholarly pursuits and political insight. His ability to relate to people, to understand problems from a larger perspective, to critique the failings of the current Republican regime, and to offer well-reasoned solutions in a way that is persuasive to ordinary people indicates to me that he has impressive presidential qualifications. So, I don't so much "like" him as respect his ability to govern.

As more and more Americans come to know him and recognize his myriad qualities, I'm convinced that they will see him as eminently qualified and ready to assume the presidency.

You're certainly welcome to disagree, but this is more than just momentary excitement over a candidate. This man has demonstrable and impressive leadership capabilities. And I will do everything in my power to help him become the 46th President of the United States.

He has all the makings of a winner!

And thanks for reading my response.

I know we have DUers from several countries, most of which think very much as we do.

It is healthy to entertain views from outside our biases, prejudices and daily troubles!

Thank you for your thoughtfulness and continue on...... .......
