Forget COVID-19, it's Bernie crashing the markets (!)

MF45's 'Blame the Democrats' line has been taken up by some Wall Street mouthpieces,

Wall Street cites Bernie Sanders as a rival to the coronavirus as a market risk

A potential Bernie Sanders presidency is slowly becoming a concern on Wall Street that rivals the escalating coronavirus crisis.

Conventional wisdom suggests investors are spooked by the prospects of the virus mutating into a worldwide pandemic, especially with multinational supply chains being hammered and travel restrictions imposed on the world’s 2nd largest economy. The appearance of the virus in California has heightened those concerns, which walloped stocks on Thursday.

However, at least a few investors see Sanders’ rise — and the failure of a more moderate candidate to emerge from the crowded Democratic field — as a growing risk to markets. Billionaire bond king Jeffrey Gundlach recently warned that Sanders could trigger a market correction, a sentiment he reiterated on Wednesday to CNBC.

In a lengthy research note published on Thursday, RBC Capital Markets noted that “investors may have been rattled by [former New York City mayor Mike] Bloomberg’s loss of momentum, not just Sanders’s surge,” amplified by a “high degree of nervousness about the coronavirus.”

8. Cheeto must have gotten that idea from his friend Macri in Argentina
Thu Feb 27, 2020, 04:56 PM
Feb 2020

When that country's debt bubble popped in April 2018, Macri (a longtime Trump friend) tried to have everyone believe that it wasn't that the markets were cashing out of Argentina knowing that a massive debt bubble was about to pop.

It was "because people are afraid the Peronists (the center-left opposition) might return."

But burst it did, and 18 months later - amid a massive recession - Signore Macri was gone. It was his bubble, and everyone realized that.

Likewise, this had been Trump's stock market bubble - and it's now the Trump Slump.

If it was Sanders then the drops should have come after Iowa and Nevada -- not on the eve of Biden's only potential win.

13. I'm surprised they haven't blamed Hillary
Thu Feb 27, 2020, 05:25 PM
Feb 2020

Actually, Trump is blaming Democrats overall, specifically the Democratic debate even though the market started to slide before the debate. He threw Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer into the mix because they criticized the Trump Administration for limiting the amount of funds for the medical/scientific community to get a handle on Covid-19.

Anyone but Trump for accountability, of course.

As for blaming Sanders? They'll blame everyone and anyone. Which doesn't erase the fact that Trump's ludicrous performance last night did nothing to stem the tide. He only increased uncertainty by contradicting his own medical personnel and rambling about how great he is.

The man is a paranoid mess and as much a public risk as the damn virus!

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
