But Bernie’s gonna be Bernie, so that’s not likely.

On Tuesday, Bernie was relevant. We had to listen to him. Today, he’s not, and we can go back to ignoring him again while secretly hoping that someone, someday, will deliver on Bernie’s platform.

In a way, I kind of think he should, because I think it would close the door on much of the nonsense. Otherwise, all we'll hear about for the next 8 months is how Sanders would have won if he'd just stayed in the race, etc.

If Dems are going to somewhat blunt the inevitable storm should Biden win the nomination, it would help if his win is pretty emphatic. I know that didn't help last time, but I don't think people are going to be as willing to go along with it this time, after 3+ years of Trump.

the primaries to be over, I think. They saw Super Tuesday as decisive, and are tired of debates, tired of the coverage, etc. I don't think people are all that excited about Biden, but they find him acceptable, and there aren't enough people excited by Bernie at this stage to overcome the sense of inevitability that is taking hold. But there's no reason for him to exit while there are still a number of states coming up, unless he wants to.

If he wants or feels obligated to.

His campaign is more than just about him trying to be president. It is about pushing his message and policy positions, and giving his supporters a say and a vote for who they want to lead this party. I feel the same about Warren.

After the convention is over then they both MUST concede and endorse the winner. Bernie did that last time and will do it again if he loses. Warren will also do the right thing. But till that time I hope both Warren and Sanders to stay in it giving their supporters a voice.

He will concede and endorse the nominee at the convention. If he does that he cannot and won’t be a spoiler.

This is a fact, not opinion, by definition.

And despite what some in this site claim Bernie caused no more chaos than any other primary challenger.

His legacy will be giving liberals reason to work within the party rather than outside it ala a third party and Ralph Nader. That is a good thing.

41. That argument
Thu Mar 5, 2020, 04:15 PM
Mar 2020

could be made about every single primary runner up in history. He conceded, he endorsed Clinton, he campaigned for her, he even chastised his supporters like he did at the convention.

He did everything he was supposed to do.

The time between the convention and the general election was enough to bring unity every other time in history.

It was enough time in 2008, and Sanders brought an even greater percentage of his voters to Clinton than Clinton did for Obama back then.

By every objective standard the loss we suffered in 2016 can be laid at the feet of one person: James Comney.

But Bernie is the one who gets the hate. The person keeping progressives and Liberals working within the party as opposed to without via a third party.

His actions viewed objectively are more help than they are harmful.
