(11,605 posts)I figured Bernie would get more of her votes than Biden, but not by a huge margin.
Personally, I'm leaning toward Bernie but have not ruled out voting for Biden. Ironically, I was more open to supporting Biden a week or two ago, before the big consolidation around him. I am in no way alleging that the process was rigged, but I do feel like Biden is being shoved down our throats a little bit by the MSM and especially on this site, and by some elements of the party establishment (such as donors who shifted their support to him from other candidates and the wave of elected Democrats scrambling to jump on board the Biden train suddenly with their endorsements). I am disappointed to not have more choices because the MSM basically forces the field to narrow before most people even get to vote.
This is not a "rigged against Bernie" conspiracy at all. Warren was my first choice most recently and in some ways all along. This is a complaint I have living in a state that doesn't get to vote until late April. It's bad enough my vote doesn't matter in the general because I live in a solidly blue state that presidential candidates only come to for high dollar fundraisers (and those who don't do high dollar fundraisers probably wouldn't come to at all). I would have liked to at least had more choices and the opportunity to meaningfully participate in the primary.

I respect Senator Warren's decision but other than the the hard decision on having to drop out of the race it was a non decision. I say this knowing that part of why she ran for public office was due to polcies that Senator Biden pushed.

(1,777 posts)If you're skeptical of Biden, then you'll want a Senate that will push him with bold legislation. If you're skeptical of Bernie -- well, legislatively it won't matter so much, because he probably won't be able to work with Congress anway, but still -- we need a Democratic Senate.

(25,472 posts)Been saying that all along. He can only sign what can get through Congress.
One of the primary differences between Biden (and most of the others) and Sanders is that Sanders rarely seems concerned about anything other than the top of the ticket and his few select endorsements. Just about everyone else will be fighting for Dems at all levels of government and all over the tent.

(11,990 posts)Think of how Harris and Booker went after Biden, To say nothing of Clinton and Obama in 2008. In the end, it means nothing.

(11,990 posts)And btw, Warren's exact line (which wasn't supposed to be for public consumption was) "'I think you called me a liar on national TV' -- and he basically said let's talk about it later. We never got a full accounting of their recollections of the conversation. However, they both complimented (and sometimes criticized) each other thereafter. It wasn't the end of their civility. If every spouse who accused the other of lying--or of calling them a lawyer--got a divorce over it, we'd have almost no married couples. Honestly, I put this in the "get over it" category.
