Rashida Tlaib calls on Michigan's Muslim-Americans to back 'Ammu Bernie'

(snip)

"I sincerely have never seen someone talk about human rights for all, talk about peace and the importance of ending endless wars like he has," Tlaib tells Middle East Eye.

"And he's been consistent about it. It's not rhetoric for him. It's part of who he is and his values."

(snip)

"He doesn't just see me as a Palestinian or Muslim, he sees me as someone who's also against corporate greed. He sees me as an equal," Tlaib said of Sanders.

(snip)

"Even when people are running away, he's completely unafraid to hug our children, to welcome us," the congresswoman told MEE.

..."we're going to impeach the m-f*er", booed Hillary Clinton, voted against the majority Democratic position a number of times, etc.

She'll have a lot to answer to in the August primary.

The Detroit Arab American community has a long tradition of entrepreneurship and, until the past decade, largely voted Republican.

I like her progressive record and the fact that she’s making Arab-American issues more visible but booing Clinton was just over-the-top ridiculous.

Have personally met and have had discussions with Ms. Tlaib. Also e-mail her frequently.
Also I have Arab family/ friends that I haven't really surveyed as to their candidate preference.
Having said that in my last e-mail I informed her that I would continue to support her but not Bernie. Many people don't understand that MFA is a non-starter. It's disingenuous to sell this concept when it has ZERO chance to get to the 60 vote threshold needed in the Senate.
That is why preference has been and is Joe Biden.
