Trump's Re-election Chances Suddenly Look Shakier

“President Trump faces the biggest challenge yet to his prospects of being re-elected, with his advisers’ two major assumptions for the campaign — a booming economy and an opponent easily vilified as too far left — quickly evaporating.,” the New York Times reports.

“After a year in which Mr. Trump has told voters that they must support his re-election or risk watching the economy decline, the stock market is reeling and economists are warning that a recession could be on the horizon because of the worsening spread of the coronavirus.”

“And instead of elevating Sen. Bernie Sanders, as Mr. Trump made clear was his hope, Democrats have suddenly and decisively swung from a flirtation with socialism to former Vice President Joe Biden, who has run a primary campaign centered on a return to political normalcy.”

~ Taegan Goddard, quoting the NY Times

It was all about his predicted clusterfark of a presidency that was supposed to give them daily fodder. The prediction came true, but it didn't do America or the world any favors.

Can we call it a re-election? He was voted in by the more ignorant states and not the people. He finished second.

would be to just fire Pence and resign himself. Then we'd have President Pelosi who would keep the ship afloat until Inauguration Day.

She was involved in the last financial crisis and knows what's what. Still remember the day she walked outta some big meeting white as a sheet because of how close we came to a complete and total meltdown when the capital markets froze up...

Our markets function, our banks have cash, liquidity is fine. But fighting the pandemic will cause massive contraction of spending and collapse of business balance sheets, particularly small businesses. I mean meltdown. Rents, loans, bond debts are still due. Receipts are diminished. Bills go unpaid, which impacts other businesses. This is off the charts. 1932 all over again.

Sometimes I wish I was an artist or at least a cartoonist.

I have this picture in my head of a CoVid-19 cell like the one in this DU post. The image minus the boat and Trump.

But my image would have the CoVid-19 cell with two legs and big oversize shoes and under one shoe being squashed would be the likeness of Trump depicted by his small hand, red tie, orange face, and blond hairpiece.

Titled: Squashed by a Superior Germ

almost from the outset. His presidency has been one stupid, inept move after another and all that adds up. The Democrats are on a roll that got started when Jones won the Alabama senate seat and it hasn't stopped.
