I don't believe for a second that trump is "afraid" of Joe Biden getting into the race. He would

like for us to believe that, but I strongly doubt it. He thinks Joe is too old and past his time, as many here feel the same way. He feels he could beat Joe in the election for those exact reasons. What he is afraid of are the young, energetic and fantastic candidates that are in the running. He is scared of most of our candidates, and he should be. Don't get me wrong, Joe is a good man, he looked great with Obama. Those days are over.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

“A combined 58 percent of voters are either uncomfortable (37 percent) or have reservations about (21 percent) Bernie Sanders’ 2020 bid. For Elizabeth Warren, it’s a combined 53 percent. And for Kamala Harris and Beto O’Rourke, it’s 41 percent of voters expressing either reservations or discomfort.” Given that the overwhelming number of voters know who Sanders is, there is no excuse — as there is for other candidates — that they have insufficient information to decide whether to vote for him. Sanders is about as well known as former vice president Joe Biden, yet the poll shows that Biden’s comfortable/uncomfortable rating (48/48) clearly outpaces Sanders’s (37/58).....

Sanders’s age, the “socialist” moniker he embraces and his 2016 campaign problem with women are not going to change during the race. It’s unlikely his personality or his familiarity with foreign policy will improve, either. (The guy is 77, and if we have learned anything from Trump, it is that septuagenarians don’t change their personalities nor attend to habitual deficits in knowledge.) Oh, and on Sunday he again promised to release his tax returns, which he promised over a month ago would be “soon.”

Sleepy Joe isn't working. Any of the 'touchy-feely' accusations will not work for someone like Trump who has been accused of actual assault by multiple women. The segregation issue back in the 70's? How does that play for the Trumpster who has revealed himself as a flat-out bigot in real-time? The biggest advantage that Biden has is his knowledge and experience, his know-how in foreign policy and the solid relationships he's developed over many years. Not to mention Biden's working-class creds that threaten Trump's beloved base support.

Biden would be a formidable candidate and Trump knows it all too well.

And as we’ve consistently seen through the years, the Repukes are hypocrites who aren’t hesitant to apply their own shortcomings against the Democrats.

The Repukes will hammer the inappropriate touching of women by Biden. They already argue that Trumpass’s grabbing is irrelevant because the American people elected him despite that. The same thing will be said about Biden’s age. The Repukes will say that the American people have already decided that Trumpass’s age is okay because they already voted for him.

It doesn’t matter that their arguments are illogical and downright stupid; to too many people in this country those arguments will be persuasive. Repukes get away this shit all the time

I will say that I believe all of our candidates can beat Trumpass, and I will vote for whomever wins the primary

Bernie would have the most damaging oppo based on a treasure trove of his pro socialism, anti capitalism, acceptance of communism musings in video and print. The gop want bernie because they will smear all Democrats as socialists and we'll lose tickets down ticket.

According to the current polls, only Biden beats trump outside the MoE. So, if the other Dems are almost in a deficit at this point, they will be at a greater deficit come election day. Voters will vote for the Devil they know will likely prevail.

Regardless of what you believe, if voters could opt for someone like trump against a great candidate like Hillary, the others this time don't stand a chance because not one of them can match Hillary's accomplishments except for one. That candidate is Joseph Robinette Biden.

The only way they can win is lie and cheat. They CAN'T win on the truth.

If they say they are afraid of Biden, then they WANT Biden, thinking they already have enough ammo to use against him. Unfortunately, I think that is a valid concern.

Anita Hill will be re-fought, seriously reducing AA turnout. It doesn't matter that he has apologized for his part in that travesty. That will not be enough for many, and that group will be exploited to the max.

His penchant for physical closeness to express support to individual women will be examined in minute detail, seriously affecting women voter turnout. More Me Too examples will come out of the woodwork to further divide us.

He is notorious for his gaffes. And every new one will be yet another horse that is beaten to a dead pulp by those trying to take him down, or at least trying to make it a neck-in-neck horse race for ratings...

I like the man. But I don't think he can weather the media and social media onslaught that is waiting for him.

It is the general election where they will re-throw all the shit they can.

And for those who are not political junkies, like us, it may all be new information to them. Enough could stick to negate the win.

The low-information voter is our worst nightmare. They can be told how to vote, and they will march into the voting booth and do just that. We need to increase their political awareness.

We DO need to get that apparently HUGE block of people who haven't voted, to vote. But they need to do so with a modicum of political smarts. Democrats need to be front and center in that education process.

This will be a (for real) make or break election. If we don't succeed in introducing accountability back into the process, we are done. Stick a fork in US.

enemy.. just like a lot of people who put others down to build themselves up.

I think you've covered his descriptions, Tkv.. he's a glutton, and the junk he consumes oozes out on his surface.

Joe Biden

Trump would seriously afraid of running against and Biden is one of them. Youth is overrated. If our nominee is too young that could actually be a negative in the general.

Someone who is confident doesn't say this:

"Oh my God, this is terrible. This is the end of my presidency. I’m fucked.” - Donald J. Trump

However, our nominee, and the Democratic Congress, has to be strong enough to finish off this fiasco, since the GOP obviously is too compromised and too cowardly to do so.

35. IMO Biden would beat trump too. I still remember how he spanked Ryan in the 2012 VP debate.

Biden appeals to many of the same working class demographic as trump does and he's much more likeable and thus will pull some of those voters from trump.

Who else is really afraid of Joe Biden is Sanders (see the Lucy Flores attacks on Biden. It's pretty obvious OR sent her out to do that).

I'm undecided but leaning to Harris or Warren but I'd gladly support Joe if gets the nomination.

I think Joe would be his worst nightmare, fighting him toe to toe and being the real populist and not the fake (me, myself and I) pretend populism of drumpf that really is nothing more than fascism in thin disguise. Confronted with the real deal vs. fake orange shit, think Biden can win with a large enough margin to overcome the vote stealing and ratfuckery of the election in the red states which is sadly a total given.

Any of our candidates can beat that fucker. I'm not saying it would be a cakewalk, but they're certainly capable of defeating that shitass. Again, I'm not buying this stuff about a nearly 80-year-old man with a tendency of shoving both feet in his mouth as our great savior. It's nonsense.

Joe has been called beloved.
Something Trump wants desperately.

Joe is a great friend of John McCain.
I think lots of Bush republicans might be swayed by that.

Joe Biden is part of an Obama legacy.

trump wants to run against sanders and is afraid of Joe Biden

The Republican Party would love to run against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) because they could make the election all about Sanders and socialism instead of Trump. They want to run against Buttigieg because they think they can use his sexual orientation and youth against him.

The person that Trump can’t figure out is Joe Biden. Trump has tried the “Sleepy Joe” attack but has flopped. Trump has now moved on to trying to attack Biden’s populism by coining him “1% Joe.” This also won’t work, especially coming from Donald Trump. Trump fears Biden’s populism and former vice president’s appeal in Rust Belt states.

Biden scares Trump, and that fear is never more obvious than when Trump starts talking about his potential opponents in 2020.
