Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumHave any candidates have a vision or plan if Trump is not Repub. candidate?
It seems Trump is hanging onto the Presidency by a thread. When the unredacted Mueller report is finally made public there may be such an uproar by the public that 67 Senators might join Dems in conviction on impeachment and removal from office.
Then Pence would be President. I would assume he would run in the 2020 election UNLESS Trump before he is impeached he forces Pence out by giving him a lifetime job as a Federal Judge and Trump appoints Ivanka to be Vice President. Then when Trump is impeached or makes a deal and resigns Ivanka becomes President. You can bet that she would then be the 2020 Republican candidate.
Talk about a turmoil and chaos in an election.
Probably over half the 20 (maybe 21 tomorrow) Dem candidates are campaigning on a "vision fro America".
Do any of them have a plan B (short vision) for running against Pence or Ivanka?

(3,259 posts)He is the President. He will not be seriously challenged for the nomination. Nothing out there changes any of this. Additionally, the general is a long way out.
Ivanka?

Makes me giggle, the idea that she would think she should.
I don't know if any candidate has articulated a plan where they run against someone other than Trump. I don't believe so.

(1,857 posts)That the wiser candidates, if only for a moment, have considered that sort of thing on a middle or back burner.
But who can say?

(82,383 posts)that should put the Repubs in a state of disarray for awhile. There would be plenty of time for a plan. The media would spend a week 24/7 on Dotard's meltdowns and threats.
