As we critically consider our 20 (so far) candidates, could we do our best to do so

in a way that doesn't burn any bridges? Anything along the lines of "I could NEVER vote for him/her!" just should not be posted UNLESS the poster has the guts to follow it with "---and if that means another Trump term, so be it!"

In the general election , I will vote for and actively work to elect the Democratic nominee---PERIOD.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

If it gets too heated here I will do the same thing I always do. Take a break.

Of course the new system of having a separate forum for election discussions may be just the ticket.

Yes, I have been careful about criticizing candidates and I have tried to focus on the issues and where candidates stand. It is asking too much to get the story from the Biden Campaign about his foreign policy in the Middle East and Latin America? I want to know what he thinks about Iran.
Then I would make a decision. Personality wise he is a sweet down to earth person who exudes kindness. We need that kind of a person in the White House......but facts please.

Many of them would be great in cabinet positions. For instance, if Biden isn't nominated think what a great Secretary of State he would be. Kamala Harris as Attorney general, Elizabeth Warren as Treasury Secretary, etc...

Having this many great candidates is a blessing. We must be sure not to turn it into a problem.

for Democratic platform for 2020 election

There are eight tenets of the Second Bill of Rights Roosevelt proposed in his speech:

The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries, or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

The right of every family to a decent home;

The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident and unemployment;

The right to a good education.

18. criteria for choosing who to support.
Sun Apr 28, 2019, 07:29 AM
Apr 2019

Bernie Sanders is the first candidate to sign a pledge vowing to support whomever is the Democratic nominee and that is good. However after due consideration I have decided that for me anyway, I will not support any candidate who is not willing to be vice president. For me that separates out those who really want to serve and those who are just stroking their egos.

will take steps to remind people in threads that come up exactly what is stated in the original post.

I see any attack on a democratic candidate as originating from a TROLL and they should be treated as such...PERIOD!

Quite honestly, I would like to see it a DU rule during election years...or make everyone take a pledge.. something..

I think these threads are all googleable, so everyone and the mother gets to see any division in these threads and they can use them to exploit further...... There should never be any doubt what we stand for and that we stand united.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
