I believe Biden will eventually get up to speed and I hope to see him do a video on fast tracking equality for women. He can do it.

(6,043 posts)ver bad optics on the foundation
Foundation mainly just paid salaries
From NY Times:
Rather than financing international humanitarian projects and high-profile events like the meetings of the Clinton Global Initiative, much of the Biden Foundations funding has gone toward staff salaries. Its only grant in 2017 totaled about half a million dollars, which was used to spin off the Biden Cancer Initiative as a separate project.
A New York Times review found earlier this year that Mr. Bidens various entities had no fewer than 49 staff or board members who had worked for Mr. Biden, for former President Barack Obamas administration, or for one of the Obama or Biden presidential campaigns.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, the Biden Foundation announced it would suspend operations, effective immediately, including activities related to fundraising, staffing, policy, and partnership collaboration across its policy pillars. In the coming days, the foundations board will carefully evaluate options and plan a pathway forward. In the interim, staff will begin work to wind down all the foundations legal, fiscal, and programmatic activities.
The Vice President and Dr. Biden are the heart and soul of the foundation and now will be devoting all their time and effort to the presidential campaign, said Ted Kaufman, chair of the Biden Foundation board. We are immediately suspending foundation activities. In the coming days, the board will put together a plan for an orderly wind-down of all of the foundations work.

(6,043 posts)The issue is how much money did the foundation spend on violence against women, and on any of its other initiatives. Where did the money come from and how and to whom has it been disbursed.
The NY Times article indicates that its main expenditures in 2017 were for salaries and costs related to spinning off the cancer initiative.
Has Biden's foundation filed a report for 2018?
I am well aware of the Violence against Women Act, having been involved in the service of sheltering of abused women. I know some of the women involved in advocacy groups which helped write the legislation. Rep. Louise Slaughter of NY was also involved in writing the legislation.
You can send whatever links you wish-the the main issue is how much money did the foundation spend on each cause, on what projects was it spent, why is it closing, how many of the staff and board members politically affiliated with Joseph Biden. Has the foundation filed a return yet for 2018?
I haven't deflected anything. This is a field in which I have direct experience.

Im glad you recognize what an accomplishment the Violence Against Womens Act was and Bidens Herculean effort to get it across the line. You and I both know it will be a top priority of his to get it strengthened even further. History tells us its his passion. I also appreciate you highlighting how outstanding the Clinton Foundation is. They are such amazing and wonderful people.
We both know ending violence against women has been a top priority of Biden. You highlight a half million dollar grant, I highlighted a portion of their efforts for the LGBQT community, and more.
I dont for a second believe you dont know how passionate he has been in this area for a very long time. Advocacy group after advocacy group appreciates his efforts. Its not a secret. Its never been a gimmick.

but admittedly do not like corporate strong-arming of employees to contribute to the big execs chosen candidates.
(friend in healthcare and pharmaceuticals worry they won't be regard as team players if they don't contribute against their own self-interest. Creates lots of worker stress.
